Great Spring Vegetables and Herbs for health
Reduce your dependency on your local supermarket and grow fresh herbs and vegetables! As soon as the ground thaws and early spring arrives it is time to do your early spring planting. Spring came early this year in Connecticut so I was able to compost work the soil and plant seed by the 20th of March and will continue putting in seed through the end of March. By early to mid May it will be harvest time! For some crops you can do a second planting or after harvesting plant a second crop of a different vegtable in the same patch! With experience you learn to get the most of your bed areas and soil, and importantly always compost yearly. I spend late fall and early spring spreading compost and working the soil for planting.
